Tim White lead the crowd in the "Pledge to the flag". First
to take the stage tonight were Red Head Express www.redheadexpress.com.
The band hails from the beautiful state of Alaska but is currently
living and working in Branson, Missouri at the Circle B Theatre. This
family entertained the audience with bluegrass tunes like "Rough &
Rocky", "Mule Skinner Blues" and "Orange Blossom Special". They also
treated the crowd to some fine dancing and funny stories. Band members
include Brett (dad) on spoons and vocals, Apryll (mom) playing
rhythm guitar, Kendra, age 19 guitar, fiddle and vocals, LaRae,
age 17 banjo, fiddle and vocals, Alisa, age 15 fiddle, mandolin and
vocals, Meghan, age 13 bass and vocals...... The three youngest of the Walker Clan joined in on a couple of numbers. Sean, age 10 on fiddle.... Joesph, age 8 playing fiddle.... Ammon, age 6 on bass...... The
second half of the evening Overdrive Bluegrass entertained the crowd.
They picked such bluegrass standards as "Free Born Man" and "Black
Mountain Rag" and gospel numbers like "Beautiful Life". Band members
include Dwayne Anderson from Livingston, Tennessee playing bass, Tom
Cecil of Thomasville, North Carolina on banjo, Meredith Goins from
Dunlap, Tennessee playing fiddle, Jared Hensley of Madison County North
Carolina playing guitar and Tyler Williams of Ohio singing vocals. That
wraps up another great evening here at the Pickin' Porch. Drop by next
